Important Information on the ASME Electronic Copyright Process

ASME has implemented an electronic process for copyright submission. This process gives each author the ability to sign his or her copyright form electronically instead of filling out and sending in the paper form to ASME.

In order for your form to be processed correctly, a few procedures need to be followed:

  • At abstract submission, the corresponding author must enter all co-author information in the Tool with complete and verifiable information, including email address and telephone. Non-verifiable contact information may prevent you from completing the copyright form and your paper from being published.

  • Once a final paper is submitted, each author of the paper will receive an email message with a unique link that will take each individual author to a website to electronically sign the form.

  • Once a final paper has been submitted, the author will not be able to change the author lineup or paper title.

For more detailed information, please go to ASME Copyright Guidelines to familiarize yourself with this process.

The ASME 2013 Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems will be held September 16-18, 2013 in Snowbird, Utah.

Adaptive Structures and Materials Systems by definition are intelligent, flexible systems that have sentience and responsiveness to ever changing environments. The field has rapidly matured due to synergistic interdisciplinary efforts across sectors of universities, government and industry. To continue the high impact growth of this field and lead it into the future, the purpose of this conference is to assemble world experts across engineering and scientific disciplines (mechanical, aerospace, electrical, materials, and civil engineering, biology, physics chemistry, etc.) to actively discuss the latest breakthroughs in smart materials, the cutting edge in adaptive structure applications and the recent advances in both new device technologies and basic engineering research exploration.

To meet this goal, the conference is divided into symposia broadly ranging from basic research to applied technological design and development to industrial and governmental integrated system and application demonstrations. The symposia specifically are:
