The 2007 ASME Summer Annual Meeting is being held in Toronto, Canada
at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, June 9 - 14, 2007. The Summer Annual
Meeting is the turning point of the Society’s
administrative year. Incoming officers are inaugurated and retiring
officers are acknowledged for their past efforts. Members of the Society
convene throughout the week to nominate next year’s officers
and to discuss the affairs of the Society. There are no technical
sessions during this event.

Sunday, June 10 6:00pm - 7:30pm
All registrants, spouses, and guests are invited to attend this cocktail
reception. It is a popular way to renew friendships and make new ones.

INNOVATION: ENGINEERING IN THE CLASSROOM!
A FREE workshop jointly organized by ASCE, ASME and IEEE
Tuesday, June 12, 8 a.m. till noon, at the Fairmont Royal York
Hotel, Tudor 8/Main Mezzanine/Fairmont Royal York Hotel
Come and discover how you can enhance your efforts to bring exciting engineering
education to your local schools and preuniversity educators. Participants will
use fun, kidtested engineering activities from the ASCE, ASME and IEEE. This
workshop will feature inquirybased learning, incorporating national mathematics,
technology and science standards and address issues of gender and diversity in
engineering education. Participants will have the opportunity to explore complimentary
resources, gain insight into outreach programs that will help you organize public
outreach events and train other volunteer engineers. Complimentary resources
will be provided and will include instructional booklets, lesson plans, videos,
CDs and DVDs, a selftutorial PowerPoint training presentation, and much more.
Participants will also learn to identify and work with educational partners including
schools, PBS stations, museums and youth groups. |

THINK TANK SUMMIT AT SAM 2007
Three provocative special sessions comprising ASME's first Think Tank Summit
are now part of ASME's Summer Annual Meeting in June. Registration is complimentary
