About La Jolla

Everything that California is famous for can be found in La Jolla (the Jewel). It offers all the amenities of a big city while retaining the feeling of a smaller resort community. In downtown La Jolla you will still find many family owned businesses, art galleries, boutiques, antique shops, unique clothing and jewelry stores. Or, just minutes away you can find world class shopping, resorts, entertainment, dining, outdoor recreation and theme parks. Walk the exquisite beaches of La Jolla and watch sea lions and seals frolicking in the waves. The town of La Jolla is also home to a large salt-water aquarium, and championship golf courses overlooking the Pacific Ocean are just minutes away.

Points of Interest in La Jolla

The town of La Jolla is actually within the limits of San Diego County, so there are literally hundreds of exciting attractions within close proximity. Championship golf courses, museums, art galleries, antique shops, sea life aquariums, and amusement parks are just a few of the activities available to you. San Diego's arts and culture and culinary arts are making a name for themselves, both nationally and internationally. Balboa Park, the largest urban cultural park in the U.S., features 15 museums, numerous art galleries, beautiful gardens, the Tony Award-winning The Globe Theatres and the World-Famous San Diego Zoo. The region is also a breeding ground for the hottest, new talents of culinary arts, who prepare award-winning meals in many of the region's 6,400 eating establishments. And for those looking for outdoor recreational fun, choose from scuba diving or snorkeling, swimming, sailing, hiking along the ocean’s edge, or sunbathing on the beach. Tour La Jolla Cove, which is one of the best scenic routes in San Diego. Or for just plain fun, go shopping on Prospect Street, known as “the Rodeo Drive of San Diego”.
