"In light of the recent events that took place in Mumbai, India on November 26, we wish to extend our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to all those who may have been affected by this tragic ordeal. ASME is committed to our members and the engineering profession and would therefore like to reinforce its commitment to all potential attendees of the 2009 ASME Oil and Gas Pipeline Conference in Delhi. The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon Hotel has assured us that they have taken appropriate measures to bolster the security and safety of their guests."

To meet the needs for networking, international cooperation and international best practices, ASME is proud to present the second annual ASME India Oil and Gas Pipeline Conference.

This exclusive event was designed by ASME Members in India in cooperation with ASME Pipeline Systems Division members globally. This unique, not-for-profit event, designed by engineers for engineers, provides a forum for the transfer of best practices and standards in a global sense securing India’s position as a leader in pipeline technology. Organized by the Pipeline Systems Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the International Petroleum Technology Institute, and the ASME Codes and Standards, the Conference takes place in New Delhi and brings together key corporate players in the onshore and offshore pipeline industry.

Over three days industry leaders, engineering professionals and policymakers from across India and the world will meet to learn the state of the art of their industry, issues and priorities for moving forward. Topics will include: Design & Materials; Construction & Welding; Corrosion Control; Integrity Management; Rehabilitation; Operations and Regulation.

The 3-day conference begins on Monday, March 16, with tutorial sessions offered by internationally recognized pipeline engineers from around the world.

On Tuesday, March 17, the Conference officially opens. During these 2 days, delegates will have the opportunity to learn about challenging projects, emerging issues, international standards and the state of the art of pipeline engineering globally.

The conference promises to attract a highly distinguished panel of speakers for the conference as well as the pipeline tutorials. The conference creates a focal meeting point for the oil and gas pipeline industry and encourages interaction, networking, and dialogue on the latest trends, new technologies and policy implications.

This program is designed for senior engineering professionals involved in the design, construction, operation and regulation of India’s rapidly expanding pipeline network as well as policy-makers, vice-presidents, directors, and project-managers. Pipeline companies, service companies, research organizations and regulators with a direct interest in onshore pipelines are encouraged to register for this event.
