Join your colleagues at The 26th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE 2007) in San Diego, California. This international event promotes technological progress and international cooperation in ocean, offshore and arctic engineering.
The 2007 Conference will emphasize the theme: Industry, Academia and Government.. Sailing Together! OMAE is truly a venue for colleagues from these arenas and many countries to meet and exchange ideas.
We will also literally "sail together" on Mission Bay!
Following on the tradition of excellence of previous OMAE conferences, more than 400 technical papers are planned for presentation. The conference includes eight regular symposia:
- Offshore Technology
- Structures, Safety and Reliability
- Materials Technology
- Pipeline and Riser Technology
- Ocean Space Utilization
- Ocean Engineering
- Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology
- CFD and VIV Symposium
Four special symposia and one forum will also be featured:
The Robert Dean Symposium on Coastal and Ocean Engineering
This special symposium honors one of the icons of Coastal and Ocean Engineering, Professor Robert G. Dean, University of Florida. The Symposium will include papers by many of Professor Dean's former students and other leaders in this field. We are pleased to have Professor Dean as part of OMAE 2007 in San Diego!
For more information, visit the The Robert Dean Symposium on Coastal and Ocean Engineering Call for Papers page.
Special Symposium on Offshore Measurement and Data Interpretation
Dr. Richard Seymour of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography is organizing this special symposium on Offshore Measurements. The focus will be on methods for acquiring and using data to interpret platform performance, coastal processes and for developing better design criteria in the future.
Petroleum Technology Symposium
We are happy to renew our collaboration with the IPTI Petroleum Division. This Special Symposium will focus on the technology of offshore production and drilling, including risers, drilling, the environment and issues of producing high temperature - high pressure reservoirs.
Special Symposium on Offshore Renewable Energy
OMAE 2006 in Hamburg initiated a very successful Symposium on Offshore Wind
Energy, a very active area in Europe. The subject is of growing interest in
the US. Dr. Charles Smith of the Minerals Management Service and Prof. R.
Cengiz Ertekin of the University of Hawaii are organizing
this symposium to explore the latest technologies and the drivers for all
offshore renewable energy resources including wind, wave and current.
For more information, visit the
Special Symposium on Offshore Renewable Energy page.
Advanced Ship Hydrodynamics and Marine Technology Forum
We are pleased to highlight advanced topics in ship hydrodynamics and and
high performance vessels at OMAE 2007 in San Diego, one of the world's
centers for naval research and marine technology. This is an opportunity
for the advanced ship R&D community to exchange views with international
colleagues in academia and industry. Please submit an abstract for this
forum to the Ocean Engineering Symposium. For more information, visit the
Advanced Ship Hydrodynamics and Marine Technology Forum Call for Papers page.
Deepwater Riser Technology Forum
This session will be the first of this kind in the OMAE history. The
need of such a symposium is demonstrated by the boom of deepwater riser
activities worldwide from universities, research institutes, third
parties, and offshore industries.
Please submit an abstract for this
forum to the Offshore Technology Symposium. For more information, please visit the Deepwater Riser Technology Forum Call for Papers page.
Also, industry workshops, special sessions and keynote lectures will be included in the technical program.
OMAE is also a good place to interact and network with top people from around the world in the ocean, offshore and arctic engineering fields. This networking can present great opportunities for you and your company.
Outreach to Engineers Specialty Forum at OMAE 2007
Students and professionals looking for a career move? Check out the OMAE 2007 Outreach Forum. This will show you the challenging and rewarding opportunities in the offshore industry.
