General Information
The conference will begin on Friday morning, March 6, 2009 at 8 am, and conclude on Saturday evening, March 7, 2009, at 8:30 pm. Plan to arrive on Thursday evening to check-in. Check-in will be available from 4 pm to 8 pm. Posters will be available for viewing, and light refreshments will be available.

The ASME Los Angeles section, as this year's LTC host section, is pleased to invite interested LTC delegates to an optional tour on Sunday morning. You are invited to visit one of LA's most famous landmarks, the Griffith Observatory. For more information, click here.

"LTC Delegates: Please read the general information document, which contains information on the conduct of the LTC and tips on how to get the most out of it."

LTC Tracks – ASME 101 and Advanced Leadership Forum
Delegates with limited ASME experience who have not attended a previous LTC, register for the ASME 101 track; this includes incoming unit Executive Committee members and prospective unit “champions.”

Delegates that have attended a previous LTC, register for the Advanced Leadership Forum track. For participation in this track, you must have prior service as a member of a unit Executive Committee or Operating Board.

Preparation for and Follow-Up from LTC

Delegates funded to attend the LTC are selected by their sponsoring ASME Unit, and are expected to complete self-study preparation in advance of LTC. Reading materials are available on the Participant Resources page of the LTC web site, under “Recommended Reading for Volunteer Leaders.” We encourage all LTC delegates to read this information before arriving in LA, so that you arrive prepared to get the most out of the conference.

We also ask that delegates complete assessment surveys before and after the conference, to help measure its effectiveness and ensure that it meets their needs. Survey requests will be sent via email. Finally, we ask delegates to share their LTC experience, to apply lessons learned in their units throughout 2009–2010, and to provide additional feedback via an online survey in the fall of 2009.

LTC Registration Fee
The fee for delegates attending LTC for the first or second time is $100. For those who have already attended two or more Leadership Training Conferences, the fee is $200. In-depth information on delegate funding is available on the Travel Policy page of the LTC web site.

Letters of Invitation for Delegates Arranging Visas
If you need a letter of invitation to the Leadership Training Conference in order to arrange a visa, contact Burt Dicht, DichtB@asme.org, to have them, contact Marian Heller, hellerm@asme.org.

Meetings in Conjunction with the LTC
The Technical Communities Congress of Divisions will be co-located with the LTC. No other concurrent meetings may be scheduled during the LTC - that is, not on Friday March 6th or Saturday March 7th. Accommodations for other ASME business may be scheduled before or after the conference on a “first come, first served” basis; requests must be received by November 30, 2008.

Please send requests for meeting accommodations and any LTC-related questions to ltc09@asme.org.
