Niall
O’Meara, Aseptic Manufacturing Leader in Pfizer Ireland
Pharmaceuticals, is responsible for operations management at Pfizer’s
Sterile Manufacturing facility in DunLaoghaire. The Plant is a global
sourcing unit approved to supply product all over the world, with a primary
focus on production of sterile parenteral and topical vials for human
use.
Focusing his presentation on Sterile Drug manufacture,
Niall will talk about Pfizer’s approach in the assessment and reduction
of risk in the development and manufacture of aseptic products. It will
review initiatives taken to deliver improved process reliability, reduce
cost and gain better regulatory compliance.
Niall has been with Pfizer since 2000, and moved into
his current role in 2005 providing leadership with the expansion of Pfizer’s
aseptic manufacturing facilities. Technologies employed at the site include
bulk compounding, sterile filtration and filling, freeze drying, protein
purification, inspection and packaging.
