Bill
Bees, Senior Vice President, Operations is responsible
for operations management at Cangene
manufacturing facilities that include biotechnology fermentation
purification, antibody fractionation facilities, fill finish facilities,
as well as plasma collection operations.
Bill has been with Cangene for over 25 years with variety of management
positions in quality control, quality assurance, and product development
prior to operational management. For the last 10 years Bill has
been Vice President, Operations. In that role, Bill provided operational
leadership in the construction, validation, scale up and licensing
of Cangene’s hyperimmune plasma fractionation facility and
the expansion of bacterial fermentation, mammalian fermentation,
and packaging/warehousing facilities. More recently, he has provided
this same leadership to Cangene’s fractionation expansion
facility currently nearing completion. Bill is widely recognized
and respected throughout industry and government circles as an expert
in blood and plasma safety, manufacturing, and risk management.
Focusing his presentation on Multi product Facility Design, Bill
will talk about the new purification facility his company has built
in Winnipeg, and how the company approached the design of the new
facility to maximize flexibility.
Bill has a post graduate degree in microbiology, biochemistry, as
well as an MBA.
Cangene is
a world leader in hyperimmune manufacture and development as well
as a key player in anti-infective biodefence drugs with a number
of successful programs completed or launched post 9/11.
