Yon has practiced mechanical engineering in a broad array of mechanical disciplines in the aerospace and power generation industries. He has held positions in operations, product development, and service engineering, which have provided opportunities to utilize a wide variety of analytical, management and field skills in hydraulics and pneumatics, mechanisms, manufacturing and tooling.

Yon is a registered engineer in Florida and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University, a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Florida, and a master’s of science engineering management from the University of South Florida.
