John E. Goossen is responsible for Westinghouse’s central research
and development operations. He leads the Technology and Engineering Forum,
which provides direction to technology development and he is responsible
for the Company Innovation Program, which promotes long-term technology
development.
John E. Goossen is responsible for the operations of Westinghouse’s
central research and development organization, which includes advanced
modeling, advanced reactor design development, extensive testing and
Hot Cell facilities. He chairs the Technology & Engineering Forum,
which provides oversight and direction to all of the technology and product
development in Westinghouse. He is also responsible for leading the Company
Innovation Program, which promotes and nurtures long-term technology
development. Goossen has also been manager of strategic management for
the Nuclear Services Business Unit. His responsibilities included business
planning, acquisition evaluations and technology overview for the Services
Organization. He has held various levels of responsibility in marketing
and engineering, with his final appointment being manager of engineering
marketing. He has 30 years with Westinghouse and has a B.S. in mechanical
engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a M.S. in
engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Goossen is involved in
a number of committees and societies.
