Dennis Lind is the vice president of Design & Engineering and Integrated
Facility Planning (IFP) for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Based in Florida,
Dennis leads the Design & Engineering and IFP teams worldwide in
the sustainment of existing ride, show, and facility assets in Disney
Theme Parks in Florida, California, Paris, and Hong Kong.
Lind joined
the Walt Disney World Company in 1990 as a ride & show
machine design engineer and worked on various design projects related
to existing rides and attractions and served as the test engineer for
the commissioning of the fleet of Mark VI Monorails currently in service
at the Walt Disney World® Resort. As a member of the research and
development team, he worked on applications of new technologies, including
developing test equipment and methods to characterize dance floors used
by Disney performers. He served as the chief dngineer for quality assurance
for four years, directing a team of highly-qualified NDT certified inspectors
in the theme parks and participating in the opening of several new attractions
including “The Twilight Zone Tower of TerrorTM,” The ExtraTERRORestrial
Alien Encounter, the new Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, Disney’s
Blizzard Beach Water Park, and others. Lind joined the Walt Disney Parks
and Resorts team as director of engineering for strategic asset management
before taking on his current role.
Previously, Lind held engineering positions
at Smith & Wesson Company,
General Electric, United Technologies Automotive Group, GENRAD, and Mobil
Chemical Company.
