Travel/Transportation

The ASME WINVR conference will take place at Politecnico di Milano, located in the Bovisa area, an old industrial area in northwest Milan.
Politecnico di Milano
Campus La Masa
Edificio BL 27
Via Raffaele Lambruschini, 4
20156 Milano

This area is effectively connected to the city centre as well as to the Malpensa Airport: actually you can reach the centre of Milan in less than 10 minutes by only taking one urban train. In the same way, it is possible for you to come from and to reach the Malpensa Airport in around 30 minutes by taking the Malpensa Express train.

How to reach the Politecnico di Milano - Bovisa:

Departure from Milano Malpensa Airport
From Malpensa station take the Malpensa Express, a train connecting Malpensa International Airport to the centre of Milan (Cadorna Station), with trains departing every half-hour. Please pay attention to the intermediate stops and make sure that it stops at Bovisa. Get off at Bovisa-Politecnico station (travelling time: around 30 minutes). Just outside the station, turn right and go down the stairs. Then, go till the end of the pavement and turn right again and walk along the street, keeping the parking area on your left. Soon after the end of the parking area, you will find on the left a narrow street, walk along it and you will arrive at the main entrance of the BL27 building, where the Conference will take place.

Departure from Milano Linate Airport
From Linate airport take the Air Bus Linate, a shuttle that connects Linate Airport to the centre of Milan and to the Central Railway Station (Milano Stazione Centrale), with buses departing every half-hour (from 6:00 AM to 23:00). Get off at P.Le DATEO, the intermediate stop with railway link, named Passante Ferroviario (blu line). Access the station entrance and take one of the several trains whose final destination is BOVISA or many other trains going to Saronno, Mariano, Seveso. Get off at Bovisa-Politecnico station (travelling time: around 20 minutes).

Departure from Milano Central Railway Station (Milano Stazione Centrale)
From Milan Central station take the yellow line (Linea 3) of the underground (direction San Donato) for one stop and get off at Repubblica. Without coming out from the underground station, follow the direction Passante Ferroviario (blue line), which takes you directly to Bovisa: you can take trains whose final destination is BOVISA or many other trains going to Saronno, Mariano, Seveso. Get off at Bovisa-Politecnico station (travelling time: around 15 minutes).
