The ASME 2012 Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systemswill be held September 19-21, 2012 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. This conference provides a casual setting, including a banquet in the spectacular Atlanta Aquarium, for formal and informal interactions between a broad range of experts in diverse fields. Adaptive Structures and Materials Systems by definition are intelligent, flexible systems that have sentience and responsiveness to ever changing environments. The field has rapidly matured due to synergistic interdisciplinary efforts across sectors of universities, government and industry.
