The ASME 2010 Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems will be held in Philadelphia, PA. The conference is divided into six symposia broadly ranging from basic research to applied technological design and development to industrial and governmental integrated system and application demonstrations. The six symposia specifically are:

• SYMP 1 Multifunctional Materials
• SYMP 2 Active Materials, Mechanics and Behavior
• SYMP 3 Modeling, Simulation and Control
• SYMP 4 Enabling Technologies and Integrated System Design
• SYMP 5 Structural Health Monitoring/NDE
• SYMP 6 Bio-inspired Smart Materials and Structures
• SYMP 7 Student and Young Professional Development

All papers will be peer-reviewed based upon the abstract. Full length papers, resulting from the accepted abstract, will be presented during technical sessions. Manuscript will appear in an archival ASME Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will be published in archival Journals.
