The Bioengineering Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering cordially invites you to attend the ASME 2012 Summer Bioengineering Conference. An outstanding scientific program is planned, including Plenary Lectures, Symposia, Workshops, and Student Paper Competitions. Both oral and poster sessions will be presented in the spectacular setting of Puerto Rico. The El Conquistador Resort lies between the Caribbean shoreline and the El Yunque Rain Forest. It offers a water park, high-speed catamaran, private 100-acre island, water sports, horseback riding and a golf course in addition to 23 restaurants and bars.

 

Student Paper Competition: Abstracts are solicited for student paper competitions at the levels of BS, MS, and PhD. Students selected for the competition will present their work in poster or podium sessions. Cash awards will be made to the top papers. For details, please visit Student Paper Competitions.


Undergraduate Design Project Competition: Undergraduate design teams can submit to the design project competition. The top teams will be selected to present at the conference and will be awarded a cash award. For more details, please visit Undergraduate Design Competition

The Art and Science of Imaging: This year's summer bioengineering conference will highlight "The Art and Science of Imaging" as its conference theme.  An outstanding plenary speaker, Dr Mark Henkelman, will introduce the state of the art in human and small animal imaging and a number of workshops and sessions will highlight techniques and applications in the various areas of biomechanical engineering.



When submitting your abstract, you will be required to select 1) a Theme from the list below, and 2) a Subtheme associated with your chosen Theme. The Theme and Subtheme will be used by the organizing committee to assign reviewers and develop the program. A brief list of these themes are:

ASME Electronic Copyright Process
