| GADS Data Reporting Workshop |
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), the new
Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) of the United States, operates
the Generating Availability Data System (GADS) database. GADS collects,
records, and retrieves operating information for improving the
performance of electric generating equipment. GADS is used to support
equipment reliability and availability analyses and decision-making by
GADS data users. Currently, more than 5,300 generating units (750,000 MW
of installed capacity) report to GADS annually.
GADS Services will provide a one-day Data Reporting Workshop that
focuses on data collection and reporting techniques; it emphasizes the
importance of accurate data reporting. You will receive instructions on
the proper methods for completing the event and performance records
required for GADS reporting. We will also discuss applications for the
collected GADS data for improving power plant. It also builds confidence
in GADS data users who come away satisfied that GADS reports provide an
accurate resource of generating unit performance information. The
workshop is open to anyone interested in learning about the data
gathering process
