Powering America’s Future – No Easy Choices

Listen to a panel of industry experts discuss the future of America’s – and specifically Florida’s – energy industry. Panel members will include:

  • Natalie Rolph is the chief economist and project manager for the Enterprise Management Solutions Division at Black & Veatch Management Solutions. Rolph established the company’s regional electric market forecasting and also is responsible for emission allowance modeling, as well as managing environmental compliance planning studies for electric utilities.

  • Michael P. Halpin is manager of the Department of Environmental Protection Siting Coordination Office for the state of Florida. In this role, Halpin is responsible for reviewing and recommending the approval or denial of proposed power plants, transmission lines, and natural gas pipelines to the governor’s office and cabinet officials.

  • P.G. (Bud) Para is the director of legislative affairs for JEA, the municipally owned electric, water and sewer supplier for Jacksonville, Fla. Para was director of fuels management for the coal-fired St. Johns River Power Park from 1995-2001 and he now manages state and federal legislative and regulatory issues for JEA, while also representing the company at the American Public Power Association and the Large Public Power Council.

  • Dr. Michael Howard is the senior vice president at EPRI, where he leads its comprehensive portfolio of collaborative research, development and demonstration programs for the U.S. and international electricity industry. Howard began his career 28 years ago as an engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation
