About San Antonio - Tours and Attractions

San Antonio captures the spirit of Texas. Now the eighth largest city in the United States, the city has retained its sense of history and tradition, while carefully blending in cosmopolitan progress. The city has always been a crossroads and a meeting place. Sounds and flavors of Native Americans, Old Mexico, Germans, the Wild West, African- Americans and the Deep South mingle and merge. Close to twenty million visitors a year delight in the discovery of San Antonio's charms and wonderful attractions.

The Alamo
"Remember the Alamo" became the rallying point of the Texan revolution against Mexico. Located in the heart of downtown, today The Alamo is a shrine and museum.


The Riverwalk
The San Antonio River Walk (also known as Paseo del Rio) is a network of walkways around the San Antonio River, linking several major attractions one story beneath downtown San Antonio, Texas. Lined by shops and restaurants, the River Walk is an important part of the city's urban fabric and is host to millions of visitors each year.


Tour of Downtown San Antonio
A tour of downtown San Antonio will uncover centuries of history. Attractions include: The River Walk (Paseo del Rio), Tower of the Americas, Spanish Governor's Palace, Fort Sam Houston, King William Historic District, La Villita National Historic District and Market Square.


Two Major Theme Parks
San Antonio is home to two major theme parks - Sea World San Antonio, the world's largest marine life park, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, a town built just for fun!


Other Attractions
There is so much to see and do: San Antonio Botanical Gardens, Brackenridge Park, Witte Museum, Blue Star Arts Complex, San Antonio Zoological Gardens and Aquarium, Casa Navarro State Historic Site, HemisFair Park and the Institute of Texan Cultures.


San Antonio for Kids
San Antonio provides the picture-perfect setting for great family vacations: the San Antonio Children's Museum, the Downtown All-Around Playground at HemisFair Park.
