This special session will be an open forum discussion focusing on developing, retaining, and promoting technical competence in early career engineers. The panelists will give a short presentation (see presentation abstracts below) and a open forum discussion and question will follow.

Presentation Abstract: Technology at GDF SUEZ Nuclear Activities:

  • Presentation of the Nuclear activities of GDF SUEZ Group in its entities and our unique know-how along the nuclear value chain, for the plant cycle (from the engineering, construction, operation &maintenance to the dismantling) as for the fuel cycle (from the mining activities to the waste management and the fuel reprocessing).
  • The currently installed GDF SUEZ nuclear capacities of 5930 MW in Belgium, France and Germany and 45 years experience
  • Introduction of GDF SUEZ HR action plan (current staffing of about 3600 people, incl. 1000 engineers), and needs on medium term (about 1100 people, incl. 470 engineers)
  • Outline of the Nuclear Trainees Program for Junior (NTP-J) and Senior managers (NTP-S).
  • Presentation of the NTP-Junior in more details with its targets (train generalists of the nuclear world and improve networking inside the Group), the different types of training modules (theory and "on the job" modules), the evaluation process and the "auto-training" opportunities, its global content and the involved entities)
