Outreach for Engineers Specialty Forum

It was an unforgettable experience being a member of Outreach program.

The Outreach Forum has done a very nice job and I hope there is a chance to attend it again and make some contributions to it one day.

--Comments from Outreach 2010 attendees

The ASME Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering Division (OOAE) of the International Petroleum Technology Institute (IPTI) is hosting a specialty forum at the 2011 International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE) in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The specialty forum is designed for students who may not be familiar with the industry as well as those who have already specialized in this area.

This is the fifth year of the Outreach for Engineers Forum. Highlights of the Forum will include presentations of the various technologies required (e.g. from geosciences to mechanical/structural engineering and project management), types of job opportunities and possible career paths, as well as site tours.

In addition, Outreach for Engineers Specialty Forum delegates will be provided with the opportunity to participate at the 30th International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering as full conference delegates. This conference will showcase over 400 technical papers from engineers and scientists from around the world, with 13 Symposia representing the range of technologies.

Students will need to apply for scholarship funds and to attend the forum. The application deadline is April 8, 2011.
