Call for Papers and Presentations at The Leon M. Keer Symposium at the 2010 Joint STLE/ASME Tribology Conference

Fellow Contact Mechanics Scientists, Tribologists, Mechanical, Lubrication and Surface Engineers, Dear Friends and Colleagues:

The Professor Leon M. Keer Symposium will be held at the 2010 International STLE/ASME Joint Tribology Conference in San Francisco, California, USA, dedicated to honor Professor Leon Keer, Northwestern University, USA, to recognize his contributions to the field of contact mechanics and tribology.

We invite you to join this special event by presenting your work and ideas at the meeting. Papers on research results, reviews, suggestions, and predictions of the future trends of the field of tribology and mechanics for tribology are all welcome! Let's meet with Prof. Keer to enjoy the tradition and prepare for the future work to come.

Leon M. Keer was educated at the California Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology of the University of Minnesota. He conducts research in the area of solid mechanics and investigates specialized topics of fracture and fatigue, surface mechanics and tribology, among others. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Mechanics, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Acoustical Society of America. In 1997, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering. He received the Daniel C. Drucker Medal from ASME in 2003, and the Mayo D. Hersey Award from the ASME Tribology Division in 2008.

Please submit your 2-3 page presentation abstract on-line using this website and be sure to indicate Professor Leon M. Keer Symposium as the preferred session.
