The Tribology Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) are seeking Student Posters for the 2009 International Joint Tribology Conference, to be held at the Memphis Marriott Downtown Hotel & Memphis Cook Convention Center, Memphis, Tennessee, October 19-21, 2009.

We are seeking students from all areas of tribology research to participate in a special session to be dedicated to student posters. Student poster research topics can be co-authored with faculty and other researchers but only students could exhibit their posters and discuss their work at the session. The posters will be judged by the IJTC conference planning committee.

Cash prizes and recognition will be awarded for the three BEST POSTERS

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the conference. This meeting is an opportunity to learn the latest in tribology research and to meet the foremost researchers in the field. Registration fees for the meeting are only $20 for STLE and ASME student members and $100 for non-member students. For information about the societies and to apply for student membership, visit www.stle.org and www.asme.org.

Authors must submit a short abstract of their poster by the 7th of September. The poster set-up and presentation session will be on Monday, October 19th. Authors of the posters will receive instructions for preparing and presenting their posters. Authors will be responsible for bringing the final poster to the conference in a format no larger than 36" (92 cm) high by 46" (117 cm) wide.
