Pre-Conference Workshop

ASME Nuclear Codes and Standards: Supporting the Nuclear Industry in China and Around the Globe

Xi’an International Conference Center
May 17, 2010 (Monday)
Xi'an, China

Workshop Description
Originating in 1914, the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code has been serving and protecting the public for 96 years. ASME codes and standards are supporting nuclear manufacturing and construction of new plants in China and around the globe. They can be applied to many of the current plant designs being marketed and constructed in China, including the AP1000 and EPR. ASME’s codes & standards for component design and fabrication, inservice inspection and testing, as well as our quality assurance, certification and inspection programs are widely recognized and used by manufacturers in China and around the globe.

This workshop will provide an overview of both the Chinese and global nuclear industry and how codes and standards are used in the design, construction and operation of nuclear power plants.
