Qualified Students and Support

Qualification:
Only students who satisfy the following requirements are qualified:

1. Have a full paper submitted and accepted in track 15 ‘Student Paper Competition’
2. Deliver an oral presentation during the conference
3. Have a poster presentation

Support:
The host society will support the following costs for those qualified students.

• Hotel rooms during the conference & Technical Tours
• Registration fee(including Banquet fee, CD-ROM)
• CFD Seminars fee
• One-day trip in Xi’an or Student Technical Tour in Beijing (air ticket is not included)*

  *For the tour on the last day, two options are available for qualified students. They can either fly to Beijing for a technical tour or stay in Xi’an for a one-day-sightseeing. The sight visit in Xi’an is all free. The students, who chose to go to Beijing for a technical tour will need either pay for the air tickets themselves or get sponsored by their own organizations respectively (CNS, ASME, JSME,ENS), while accommodation fees in Beijing will be supported by the host society.

Awarding:

1. Best papers
   Considering the paper quality, the students competition committee will select best paper from each region at the conference (4 papers in total).Nominated students should make both an oral presentation and a poster presentation.
   
   
2. Akiyama Medal
   Akiyama Medal will go to the best students from the 4 selected regions.

Student program Schedule:

1. All qualified students should arrive to Xi'an on May 16, Sunday.


2. All qualified students will have a sightseeing tour on May 21 in Xi'an, Friday.


3. Students who cannot go for the Beijing technical tour will leave Xi'an on Saturday.


4. Students who would like to go for the Beijing technical tour will leave from Xi'an to Beijing on Friday evening by train or Saturday by air and have their tour on Saturday. They will stay in hotel in Beijing for 1 night from Saturday till Sunday and fly home directly from Beijing. After Beijing tour, all the students are free.


5. The Xi'an and one day Beijing hotels will be paid by CNS. The trains from Xi'an to Beijing directions will be paid by each side society, if each side society agrees or by students. CNS can help to buy the tickets per request.

Poster:
Poster size requirement: 841mm (width) x 1189mm (height). (standard A0 size)

Invitation letters:
Procedures to get invitation letters: all qualified students are required to register at the website http://www.icone18.org without payment and submit their personal information. CNS will send them invitation letter based on those information.
