The need to get detailed and accurate measurements in microchannels and similar devices is becoming more and more important as technology progresses. TSI has developed a unique system specifically engineered for measuring flows in MEMS devices, microchannels, vessels and flow devices with very small dimensions of tens to hundreds of microns. In developing this system, TSI has collaborated closely with pioneers in microflow measurements, optical system development, epifluorescence illumination, processing algorithm development and analysis techniques. TSI licensed this technology and implemented the patented concepts into the design of its MicroPIV System, making it the most advanced, most accurate tool available for microflow measurements.

COMSOL is the maker of COMSOL Multiphysics, an environment for modelling scientific and engineering problems based on partial differential equations. COMSOL Multiphysics allows you to simultaneously model any combination of phenomena in 2D and 3D. COMSOL's GUI has a CAD tool, physics definitions, automatic mesh generation, solving, visualisation, and postprocessing. COMSOL includes: state-of-the-art solvers for simultaneous solving of an arbitrary number of coupled linear, nonlinear, and time-dependent PDE's. COMSOL allows for multiphysics modelling including thermal, structural, electromagnetics, chemical reactions, fluid, and other components in a single, fully coupled model. It is an ideal environment for modelling MEMS and microfluidics.

Micronit Microfluidics BV is a world leading company in glass lab-on-a-chip design, development and production. Micronit is capable of rapid prototyping of high quality microfluidic chips with etched microchannels, nanochannels, holes and cavities. In the chips, special functionalities can be integrated, like electrodes, pumps and valves. Moreover, Micronit facilitates in special developed tools to make microfluidics easier, like a lab-on-a-chip kit for fluid interconnections. Within Micronit, new technologies and applications are developed, disclosed and put to use in rapid succession. Visit Micronit at the conference and discover how we can shape your microfluidic future.

Dantec Dynamics was among the first to present laser based solutions for micro-fluidic flow measurements based on a variant of the particle image velocimetry method. Since then, considerable research efforts have gone into new technical applications such as measuring quantities of fluid mixing in air and liquid (using laser induced fluorescence), multiphase flows involving bubbles, cells, non-diluted human blood cells, MEMS devices, microchannel flows and many more interesting and challenging applications.

Cascade Microtech, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCD) is a worldwide leader in the precise electrical measurement and test of integrated circuits (ICs) and other small structures.
