The Honors and Awards Banquet, which will be held at the InterContinental Milwaukee on Monday, May 4, 2009, is a special annual event to recognize the outstanding achievements and dedicated efforts of the ICE Division colleagues. The Honors and Awards Banquet will start with a cash bar at 6:00 p.m., followed by a delicious dinner and the awards ceremony. The evening will conclude after the awards ceremony with an outstanding performance by the Ajula Performance Troupe.
See and hear the dynamic, colorful music and dance from the peoples of Africa and the African Diaspora during a performance by the Milwaukee Public Theater's Ajula Performance Troupe, which brings high energy drumming and ancient dances of people throughout Africa onto the Milwaukee stage.
The Milwaukee Public Theatre is a professional outreach theatre company based in Milwaukee. It was founded in 1974 as Friends Mime Theatre by Barbara Leigh and Michael John Moynihan and has since created over 400 productions. The Public Theatre performs at over 400 events a year attended by 100,000 to 150,000 people. With over 100 artists from all cultures and arts disciplines, the Milwaukee Public Theatre tours throughout the Milwaukee community and beyond. Most of their work is free to the public, yet their artists are still paid professionals, funded through private contracts and donations.
