Presentation Title: Carrier-Phase Turbulence in Fluid-Particle Flows.
Biography: Clayton T. Crowe is Professor Emeritus at Washington State University. He received his PhD from the University of Michigan in 1962, worked for seven years in the rocket industry in California, joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering of WSU in 1969 and retired in 2001. He is the primary author of Engineering Fluid Mechanics currently in its 9th edition, co-author of Multiphase Flow of Droplets and Particles (1998) and editor of the Multiphase Flow Handbook (2005). He received the ASME Fluids Engineering Award in 1995, the International Prize for Multiphase Flows in 2001. He served as Chairman of the ASME Multiphase Flow Committee in 1986 and the Fluids Engineering Executive Committee in 1991. Professor Crowe has recently been working in the area of turbulence in multiphase flows.
