The ASME 2014 12th Biennial Conference on Engineering Systems Design and Analysis (ESDA2014) is organised by ASME in cooperation with the Danish Society of Engineers (IDA) and the Danish Society of Mechanical Engineers (DMS) and will be held at the Tivoli Congress Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, June 25-27, 2014.

The ASME ESDA Conferences are held every two years and have become the premier mechanical engineering conference in Europe. ESDA Conferences typically attract well over 500 technical papers and participants from over 50 countries.

The scope of the conference covers a range of major topics in engineering, and related disciplines, ranging from theoretical developments through to industrial applications and case studies.

ASME ESDA Conference 2014- Programme Highlights

  • First two days of the conference will focus on a specific industry topic
  • Each conference day will include: a technical plenary session, workshops and presentations of high level technical papers related to the a specific industry topic

Topic day 1  (25 June 2014): “Advanced Manufacturing”
Plenary session: “Advanced manufacturing: Engaging Europe and the World to Achieve Economic Prosperity”

  • Description of the economic potential of emerging technologies, along with the regulatory and technical challenges
  • Comparison between US and Europe opportunities

Topic day 2  (26 June 2014): “Energy”
Plenary session: “Energy Supply post 2020”

  • Renewable Energy:
Denmark is on the way to an energy system based on renewable energy. How far can Denmark go towards a 100% renewable energy system? What does a 100 % renewable energy system look like and do we have the technologies to meet the future energy demand?

  • Opportunities, Strategies, and Economics for Entering the Shale Play Market
Management, resource allocation and strategies for redeployment of assets following the evolution of market opportunities.

  • Energy production and transport in competition for the biomass
Biomass is wanted in the energy system for steady and renewable energy production. In the meantime it seems to be the only solution for greening the transport sector. What is the solution to this dilemma?

Also not to miss – Meet and greet your colleagues and business partners during the social activities:
Welcome reception (26 June 2014) at the Copenhagen City Hall

Gala dinner (27 June 2014) at the National Museum of Denmark
