Introducing the New ASME Electronic Copyright Process |
ASME is implementing a new electronic process for copyright submission effective immediately. This new process gives each author the ability to sign his or her copyright form electronically instead of filling out and sending the paper form to ASME.
In order for your form to be processed correctly, a few procedures
need to be followed:
- At abstract submission, the corresponding author must
enter all co-author information in the Tool with complete
and verifiable information, including email address
and telephone. Non-verifiable contact information may prevent
you from completing the copyright form and your paper from
being published.
- Once a draft paper has been accepted for publication, the author will not be able to change the author lineup or paper title.
- Once a draft paper is accepted for publication, each author of the paper will receive an email message with a unique link that will take each individual author to a website to electronically sign the form.
The entire process should take you 30 seconds or less to
complete.
For more detailed information, please go to ASME
Copyright Guidelines to familiarize yourself with this
new process.
Should you have any questions about the new process or about
adding your co-authors, either now or once the process has
started, please contact us at copyright@asme.org.

Message from
the Conference Chair
I would like to express my gratitude for the overwhelming interest
shown towards the ESDA 2010 conference. We have received over 1250
abstracts from over 58 countries worldwide. This has set already
a new record in the ESDA history. We are now expecting the authors
to continue this line of success by submitting high quality papers.
I would like to take this opportunity to bring to your attention
a number Conference policies which will affect the submission of
your final paper(s) and conference registration:
- Full-length paper is required NOT two-page extended
abstract:
The email that you have received informing you the acceptance
of your abstract may have stated you are required to submit by
the deadline a full-paper or a two-page extended abstract for
the paper review process. Please note that ESDA2010 requires full-length
papers NOT extended abstract.
- Multiple Papers by the Same Author:
A number of authors submitted two or more abstracts, often with
significant similarities/overlap between the papers. These abstracts
may be accepted for full-length paper submission. However, if
you are one of such authors, we urge you to consider merging such
papers into a single paper at the full-length paper submission
stage, unless the papers are substantially different from each
other. Papers with a degree of overlap will be rejected at the
full-length paper review stage.
- Full-length paper Review Process: Quality of
a paper's contents together with its presentation quality will
be the main criteria in selecting papers for inclusion in the
conference. We have over 1250 abstracts submitted to ESDA2010;
hence, we are in a comfortable position to apply much strict selection
criteria.
- Registration Requirements for Inclusion of the Papers
in the Conference Program and Proceedings:
ASME requires that you or one of your co-authors register, pay
any applicable registration fees for that conference, attend,
and present the paper to your fellow conference attendees. Therefore,
we require the following:
- Each paper accepted for inclusion in the conference program
requires at least one author to be registered to present the
paper. Papers that do not have a presenting author registered
with the required fee paid before June 1, 2010
will NOT be included in the conference program and will NOT
be published in the conference proceedings CD.
- Authors who wish to present a second paper must pay an additional
fee of €100 Euros for the second paper when they register.
- Presentation of a third paper by the same author will NOT
be allowed.
