VILLA D'ESTE - CASTLE OF POPE PIUS II

The tour can begin from Rome or directly from Tivoli


Departing from Rome we drive the highway A 24 and we arrive in the valley of Tivoli where the famous quarries of Travertine are still active.


Going along the Tiburtina road we reach the town and its central Garibaldi square. Nearby, we can admire the Castle of Pope Pius II.


A few metres far from there we enter the Villa D' Este, residence of Cardinal Ippolito II Este, son of Lucrezia Borgia.


The residence, decorated with XVI century frescoes, is famous because of its fountains working with the natural pressure of the water.


You will can continue edging the Castle "Rocca Pia" built by Pope Pius II in 1461.


The tour will finish in your Hotel, we can modify it to every demand.


COLISEUM - ROMAN FORUM - CAPITOL HILL - VENICE SQUARE

The Coliseum, whose real name is Flavian Amphitheatre, was built by two emperors of the Flavian family; Vespasian began it on 72 a.D. and his son Titus ended it on 80 a.D.


On the same square we can admire the Arch of Constantine erected in the IV century a.D. and the Arch of Titus in the I century a.D.


We will continue walking through the Roman Forum, the biggest archaeological area in the world just in the heart of Rome.


Arriving on the top of the Capitole hill, nowadays seat of the City Hall, we can admire the beautiful square designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti with the Palazzo Conservatori and the Palazzo Nuovo which are important Mu


seums. After that, going down the Capitole Hill we'll get directly into Venice Square where we will be astonished by the Vittoriano, the biggest European monument.


SAINT PETER BASILICA - POPE'S CRYPT - ST. PETER SQUARE

Here is an indisputable truth: No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Basilica of Saint Peter. Here is another one: this paramount religious complex and artistic masterpiece is enormous!


We begin the visit of the Basilica of Saint Peter, the greatest Basilica in the World whose total surface overcomes the 15.000 square meters.


We can admire besides the Pietà of Michelangelo, the body exposed to the adoration of Pope John XXIII's believers, the magnificent mosaics works of great artists and the canopy in bronze, work of Gian Lorenzo Bernini.


We continue with the visit into the Vatican Crypt that constitutes a suggestive monumental complex for the so many historical memories.


Besides guarding the tomb of Saint Peter, it also guards the graves of numerous pontiffs among which John Paul II, the Crypt is rich of works of art coming from the ancient basilica.

VATICAN MUSEUMS - SISTINE CHAPEL - RAPHAEL'S ROOMS


The complex of the Vatican Museums is unique patrimony of the humanity.


The visit includes the Candelabras, Tapestries, Geographical Maps Galleries, the Immaculate Conception Room.


We will continue in the famous School of Athens inside the Rooms of Raphael, painted by the artist between 1508 and 1520.


We will visit the Sistine Chapel, center of the Conclaves with the divine frescos of the Genesis and the Last Judgment, marvellous work of Michelangelo Buonarroti.


The Sistine Chapel is one of the most famous artistic treasures in the Vatican City and in the world, built between 1475 and 1483 to the time of Pope Sisto IV.
