In addition to submitting a paper to the Design of Medical Devices Conference, those interested in submitting a full paper are invited to submit to the ASME Journal of Medical Devices.

The 2012 Design of Medical Devices Conference (DMD2012) will be held April 10-12, 2012 at the Radisson University Hotel, 615 Washington Ave. SE, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55414, adjacent to the University of Minnesota campus. The conference seeks original papers that demonstrate new technologies and applications in the field of medical device design. Submissions from academic and industry researchers, clinicians and practitioners are encouraged. The paper should present an unbiased description of an experiment, product or business method related to medical devices.

Conference Goals

  • Promote the medical device industry

  • Provide a forum to bring medical device designers, manufacturers, researchers, and representatives from the public sector together to share perspectives on medical devices

  • Raise funds from corporate sponsorships to endow graduate fellowships in medical device design

All authors are encouraged to expand their conference papers into full-length papers for submission to the ASME Journal of Medical Devices through its normal journal article submission process.

Original one-page draft papers are due by November 16, 2011.

We invite you to join us at DMD2012. The conference will be accepting submissions to the following technical tracks:
