ASME 2013 International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition

The annual ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition is a premier global conference that focuses on today's technical challenges, research updates and breakthrough innovations that are shaping the future of engineering. The Congress convenes engineers, scientists and technologists of all disciplines for the purposes of exploring solutions to global challenges and for the advancement of engineering excellence worldwide.

NEW Congress feature: Advanced Manufacturing Impact Forum

Leaders from industry, government, and academia will participate in the ASME Advanced Manufacturing Impact Forum on November 18th. The one-day forum will facilitate discussion on advanced technology and policy; new opportunities created by public and private partnerships, U.S. Government initiatives through organizations like the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute and the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation, and implications for the future of standards creation among other topics. Opening Keynote Addresses Advanced Manufacturing

The Opening Keynote Session will take place November 18th and is open to all Congress participants. The session, featuring a panel of seasoned executives including Greg M. Morris from GE Aviation, and leaders from BMW Manufacturing, UC-San Diego and NIST, will focus on the need to provide a fully integrated perspective on manufacturing in the global market. Congress Wide Plenary Sessions

Louise Jandura, chief engineer for Curiosity's Sampling System, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will be featured among three plenary session speakers schedule for November 19-21 at the 2013 Congress. Since landing, the car-sized Curiosity rover, in August 2012, it has been exploring the Gale Crater. Jandura will discuss this project and some of the challenges of robotic exploration on Mars. Honors Assembly Celebrates Engineering

All Congress participants are invited to attend the ASME Honors Assembly on November 18th. This multimedia program will celebrate some of today's leading engineers, educators, entrepreneurs and innovators, including G. Wayne Clough, secretary, The Smithsonian Institute and recipient of the 2013 Ralph Coats Roe Medal. Admission is FREE to all Congress attendees. Click for more information.
