Registration Policies
Full registration categories (Presenter, Regular Registrant, ASME Life Member/Retired, ASME Student Member) include access to ALL technical sessions, poster sessions, Exhibits, lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, (1) Copy of the DVD Conference Proceedings, admission to the Conference Opening Reception, admission to the Keynote Presentation and the Honors Assembly.


+ALL Non-Members fully paid for the conference are entitled to one-year FREE ASME Membership. Your registration fee also includes: access to ALL technical sessions, poster sessions, exhibits, lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, (1) Copy of the DVD Conference Proceedings, admission to the Conference Opening Reception, admission to the Keynote Presentation and the Honors Assembly.


++ALL Student Non-Members fully paid for the conference are entitled to one-year FREE ASME Student Membership. Your registration fee also includes: access to ALL technical sessions, poster sessions, exhibits, lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, (1) Copy of the DVD Conference Proceedings, admission to the Conference Opening Reception, admission to the Keynote Presentation and the Honors Assembly. A Student must be enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program with a major in engineering. ID is required for all student non-members. Proper ID is required for registration.


*Exhibit Only registration allows you access to the exhibit area, admission to the Conference Opening Reception, Keynote Presentation and Honors Assembly. No other sessions or programs are included.


**Guest/Spouse & Committee Meeting only registrants are allowed attend ALL Committee Meetings, the exhibit area, Conference Opening Reception, admission to the Keynote Presentation and the Honors Assembly. No other technical sessions or programs are included.


***Student Design Contest registrants are allowed to attend the Student Design Contest, admission to the exhibit area, Conference Opening Reception, admission to the Keynote Presentation and the Honors Assembly. No other technical sessions or programs are included.


Please be sure to wear your official Congress badge at ALL times. Those without a badge will be denied access to the event.


Refund Policy
For Presenters and Student Presenters, refund requests must be faxed to (212) 591-7856 by August 27, 2009. Once the refund is issued, the paper will be removed from the proceedings and the presentation will be removed from the final program. If however a co-author has registered and paid by the August 27th deadline, and is designated to present the paper, the paper will not be removed. All authors who have been designated to present a paper at the conference must register as a Presenter or Student Presenter. ASME will assess a $75 administrative fee for all cancellations. Registration Requirement for Presenters at Congress 2009
Every published paper, presentation and panel presentation must identify a designated Presenter. This Presenter must register and pay the applicable conference fees by the Early Bird registration date (August 27, 2009). If not, the paper will not be included for publication in the proceedings and the accompanying presentation information will be removed from the conference program. Presenter = Author Presenter, Panelist, Presenter of a Poster Paper, Presenter of an Oral Presentation.
Paper = Technical publication, extended abstract, short paper, poster paper, oral presentation, panel presentation. The paper types to be published are technical publication, extended abstract, short paper, and poster paper.


Non-Presenting Authors and Chairs
All participants, including non-presenting authors, session chairs and co-chairs are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee.

Members of cooperating societies may register for the Congress at the ASME member rate.
