Dr. Bischoff received his BS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2001 where his thesis was on the Quantification of Soft Tissue Biomechanics. Dr. Bischoff was a Lecturer at the Bioengineering Institute of the University of Auckland, New Zealand where his research was in Cardiovascular Biomechanics. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina in Mechanical Engineering from 2003-2006; Research interests include: Soft Tissue Biomechanics, Orthopaedic Biomechanics, Multiscale Modeling, Biological Growth and Remodeling; and he was Principal Investigator on several NSF awards in these areas. Dr. Bischoff is currently an Associate Director, Research, Computational Biomechanics at Zimmer, Inc.
